(the cast)
Xaedan is the main protagonist of the Madness Series. A strange fellow, Xaedan is quiet for a Toa of Fire, quiet to the point of anti-social. This stems from his experiences as a Ta-Matoran on Metru Nui, where his shy nature caused his fellow workers to ignore him. Now a Toa, he is tasked with the leading of a seventeen-strong team of Toa on a mission he has no idea that he's even on.
A mutated Le-Matoran. And not just your regular, garden-variety mutation, either. Caine was struck by a Reconsitute at Random disk, and then got bitten by a Visorak. Sounds lovely, right? Luckily, Caine is able to use a special mask given to him, the Great Mask of Clarity. By continually using its power, Caine is able to keep the ravenous beast at bay.
Ah, but don't worry. Caine just looks like a monster.
He's actually just a big softie.
A blind Toa of Sonics madly in love with Anzix. She was the Toa of Sonics that the Piraka had defeated before coming to Voya Nui.
Her fight with the Piraka left her blinded and injured, to the point of near-death. So, she was placed in stasis until her wounds were healed. She was then sent off to Xeno Nui.
Amea, being a Toa of Sonics, is naturally quiet. She's patient (not with Anzix), gentle (not with Anzix), and very understanding (not with Anzix).
Baka! (idiot) That's Kaede in a nutshell for you. Once an Av-Matoran, Kaede stumbled upon an injured Shadow Leech while exploring Karda Nui. They became the best of friends in a matter of minutes. However, Kaede was advised by Photok to leave after she started to look like a Shadow Matoran. Inside, however, Kaede was still the cheery Matoran of Light everyone knew and tolerated. Sadly, she was caught in an energy storm and had to be placed in stasis and turned into a Toa. Being a Toa has not augmented Kaede's brain in any way. She's clumsy, a bit naive, but Kaede's sweet and has a huge heart.
Perhaps the most enigmatic member of the team. She is Xaedan's lifelong companion and has known him for over forty years.
That being said, "Mary" is one of the last remaining Infernum Fiends; Guards made for the sole purpose of keeping order in Infernum, the Prison. The rest of the Fiends have perished when the Prison collapsed. "Mary" is slightly childish and speaks what she feels, no exceptions. Yet, "Mary" has the outward air of both a young child's as well as a caring mother.
A Bo-Matoran originating from Bota Magna. She was one of the Matoran assigned to guard the insane Great Being held prisoner there. However, when Velika collapsed the facility she guarded, she was greatly injured. Revived and then placed in stasis, she is now on Xeno Nui with the rest of her team.
Valaryx keeps to herself. Little is known about her other than the fact that she is Longinus' right-hand woman.
A major supporting protagonist in this series. Tsukumi hails from the rugged land of Voya Nui, where she was the seventh Resistance member until she fell at the hands of Thok, leaving the six, more famous members alone.
Tsukumi has now become a Toa. Her harsh life on Voya Nui has given her an unusually aggressive nature not found in Water Toa. But, perhaps, there could be a softer side to her...
A female Toa of Ice. A Toa of Ice who's talkative, like cracking jokes, and messing around with Xaedan.
That's Kaixin for you. Not your average Toa. She was originally a Ga-Metru student, but could never make the jump from student to teacher due to her maverick streak.
During the Reformation, she was badly injured. Only a transformation into a Toa would save her, but a Water Toa Stone wouldn't work. As such, and Ice Stone was used next and that seemed to do the trick.
Anzix was once the Toa of Xeno Nui, hundreds of years back. Wanderlust eventually took over him, as he was not the type to relax and sit on a beach. His travels took him to another island in the Southern Chains where he met a De-Matoran named Amea. Once Amea became a Toa, he was her mentor. For many years, they trained together until Amea, too, yearned for adventure. During her absence, Anzix's newfound home was raided by the Piraka. The Plasma Toa sacrificed himself for the safety of the Matoran and was gravely injured. He was placed in stasis for regeneration and was moved to Xeno Nui, where had started. Anzix is a friendly sort of fellow, and likes to sniff Tsukumi's pillows, among other things...
A cryptic fellow, Vyander was one of the first Matoran sent to the island of Karzahni for repairs. Unfortunately, the ruler of the island didn't exactly fix him up. Since he was one of the first Matoran, Karzahni "fiddled around", shall we say, with Vyander. The result was an extremely frail Matoran was couldn't even get off the island.
Vyander eventually collapsed after being force to work on the island, despite his physical weakness. He was placed in stasis and revived later, much later, as a Toa of Stone.
An old Toa of Light who was created on the island of Arthaka. He led a peaceful life. It was only when the Mask of Light was stolen from Arthaka did Longinus decide to leave, just before Arthaka cut off all communication from the rest of the Matoran Universe. He wandered the land, posing as Toa of Lightning, until finally asked to participate in the Great Deathmatch. Longinus has the general air of a wise leader which has gained him a large following in his Toa team.
A Toa of Iron who's more than just a bit rough around the edges. Korvald rarely speaks, and when he does, he usually just grunts. Originally an Iron Agori, he is one of the few survivors of the deadly Dreaming Plague that wiped out the rest of his Tribe. Now a full-fledged Toa, he is on Xeno Nui, a participant of the Great Deathmatch.
Scarce else is known about this reclusive Toa of Iron.
