Kaixin: Toa of Ice

Kaixin has a very brief history as she was created as a Toa, not as a Matoran. However, due to Infernum's "keyboard smash" during Madness: Genesis, Kaixin and her teammates all have falsified memories. Below are all of her false memories.

 

Kaixin was once a Ga-Matoran on the great city of Metru Nui. Like all other Matoran of Metru Nui, she lived her life just as they did. She witnessed the Toa Metru fight to defend the city. She, too, was captured by the Vahki. She had also lived on the island of Mata Nui, eventually returning back to her home city. She was also there when Aqua Magna was rejoined with the other celestial bodies, re-forming Spherus Magna.

Here, however, her life parts way with most other Metru Nui Matoran. She was one of the few Matoran who were unable to escape the ruins of Metru Nui as it crashed into the surface of Spherus Magna.

As she lay with her heartlight flickering weakly, Infernum happened to pass by and placed her in stasis.

About fourteen years pass. Kaixin is released from her stasis chamber, only to find herself as a Toa. Infernum explains that the only way to repair her injuries was to completely renew her body. He further explained that she had somehow rejected a Water Toa Stone. As such, he experimented with different Stones, with an Ice Stone finally working. Though Kaixin has trie to asked him several times why this came to pass, Infernum has never given her a straight answer.

As such, Kaixin accepted Infernum's offer to participate in his "Game". After all, a god's power was at stake. If she won, she would be able to undo everything that had happened to her and she just might be able to resume her life as a simple Ga-Matoran.

Kaixin will come to realize that it would not be so simple.

Equipment

• Retractable claws: A set of simple claws that allow Kaixin to directly channel her Ice powers at a close range.

• Icicle machine pistol: A beautifully crafted machine pistol, capable of holding 50 rounds. Like her cannon, Kaixin also powers, as well as augments, this pistol. As she fires, bullets become encased in ice, and essentially become 3-4 inch long icicles. Capable of spitting out about 850 rounds per minute, icicles have never been any more scary.

• Kanohi Calix: The Kanohi Calix is the Great Mask of Fate. The one Kaixin wears is the ordinary, non-organic variant.

Personality

Bouncy. That's pretty much the perfect word to describe Kaixin. Even as a Ga-Matoran, she remembers that she was unusually upbeat gal, always in high spirits, always laughing. Maybe that's why she was always stuck in school, never graduating to become a teacher...

This has carried over to her Toa form, which explains why she just might be the happiest Toa of Ice in all of Spherus Magna. There is no other Toa, even of other elements, quite like her. Kaixin's always the first to crack a joke, especially is if its at the expense of the erstwhile team leader, Xaedan. She kind, caring, and very forgiving, sometimes almost to the point of naivety. Kaixin just has a really big heart.

Kaixin is, however, immature as Toa go. She has an addiction for sarcasm and gets high off of pranks. She will have to learn to tone this down to fully integrate herself in the "Nameless Team".

Kaixin, during the course of The Madness Series also becomes slightly emotionally attached to Xaedan. However, this relationship is more of brother-sister relationship. Kaixin greatly cares for Xaedan, despite their less-than-stellar first encounter. However, Kaixin, being so slow to anger, takes less than a day forgiving Xaedan after beating her up. She proves to be a valuable ally from that point onward.
